"Gloria" (Vic Transit) – a step closer

IntersectionFlyover
Three years after our proposal to implement a Curitiba-like solution to the ever-worsening problem of rapid transit in the Greater Victoria region, we're pleased to see in today's Times Colonist that it is beginning to be realized, with the BC government's welcome announcement of funding for bus-only lanes, with flyovers over busy intersections. All that remains now is to see an expansion of this to a network that covers all the main arteries in the region, in accordance with our route map—and the adoption of the name, of course (which we offer, free of charge).
29.1.08 update: "A commuter train service on the E&N rail line between Langford and downtown Victoria could be built for about $16 million, and cost less than $2 million a year to operate, says a consultant's report to be released today." (Times Colonist). We have adjusted our route maps accordingly.
