To avoid setting aside two coach lanes in both Douglas and Blanshard streets (see below), Douglas St. would provide the southbound coach lane for both the Highway 1 (red) and Pat Bay (blue) routes, and Blanshard St. would provide the northbound lane for both routes (or vice versa). Both routes would change over at Gateway Village and Town & Country plazas. Turnaround downtown would be at Belleville Road, opposite the Royal BC Museum.
